Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region (Nhar) in China is experiencing progress in the field of halal food. Now, this region already has 120 company that produces halal food. The products are also exported to various countries.
Ningxia is located in China northwestern region this is indeed have a high population of Muslims. Approximately 10% of the total Muslim citizens in China is indeed inhabit this region.
Halal food is also become products promising that many produced in Ningxia. Last year, noted there are 120 companies in the local halal industry, with a production volume of more than 1 billion U.S. dollars. Its kind, among other are halal meat and a variety of dry vegetables, which are then exported to the United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, Jordan, and other countries.
It is also considered as a potential promising, because Ningxia slowly able to show themselves as a major producer of halal food in China. This progress could not be separated from the role of government, in which the local Ministry of Commerce has been designing the development of halal industry in Ningxia.
As a next step, Halal Food Certification Center in Ningxia also doing an agreement with various countries. Some of these include Egypt, Malaysia, New Zealand and Australia to gain recognition for halal standards they set.
