Reporting on McDonald's Dearborn, Michigan which no longer in serves halal menu makes American Muslim community worried. The reason, apparently menu that is claimed halal proved not kosher. This reflects the legal standard that is not accordance with procedures and harming the Muslims.

Skyrocketing popularity labeled as halal food in America apparently it triggers confusion and controversy among the Muslim community. Because, found many cases that are recognized halal food products, however, proved to contain elements not kosher.

In addition to the case of McDonald's in Dearborn, Michigan, one of the other cases occurred in Orange County, California. A supermarket must pay a fine, because proved mistaken put meat labels, and paste halal logo on the meat mixture.

"There's a lot of fraud. I am relieved, McDonald's stop that is called halal chicken because it's not really kosher," said Syed Ahmed Rasheeduddin of Muslim Consumer Group.

Halal products in the United States indeed increased dramatically. Of just 10 products in 1970, now the numbers already far increased up to more than 2,300 products in 2012. According to the Islamic Food and Nutrition Council of America, now there are already nearly 7,000 kosher restaurants in America.

"Protection of the law is still low, oftentimes there is dishonest producers who use it," said Shahed Amanullah, founder of the site to review about halal restaurant zabihah.com. Shahedpun received reports if the restaurant labeled halal many that mistaken interpreted the concept of halal.
